Within fighting video games there are many important names, from the famous Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter to older ones like Bloody Roar – does anyone remember this saga? -; however, one of the less frequently mentioned names is Virtua Fighter .
Considered the father of 3D fighting games, Virtua Fighter is a game whose beginnings date back to 1993 on the Sega Dreamcast. This series featured a total of eight games over the years, the last installment being Virtua Fighter 5: Showdown , released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012.
After eight years of absence, many fans of the franchise wondered if another installment of this series would be in development, to which the response seemed not to be so positive; However, a few months ago, the hopes of all those who wanted to see the return of Akira, Sarah, Jacky and company were ignited when Sega made a special announcement.
