Lebron James , recent NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers , wants to make history in two new worlds: that of cinema and that of video games. It is that in 2021 comes the new Space Jam movie that will star and, at the same time, a game will be launched that can be created by fans.

It was explained by Xbox in a statement that it shared with Mundo D and that we share with you below.

Microsoft and Space Jam: A New Legacy have teamed up for an epic collaboration to mark the movie’s upcoming 2021 release. Xbox, Bugs Bunny and LeBron James partnered to HELP YOU create an original arcade-style video game inspired by the new movie.

Just announced in the media, we’re looking for the best fan-submitted video game ideas – the crazier the better! From December 14th to December 30th, fans ages 14 and up will be able to enter their best game ideas on the official contest website. Simply refer to the Official Guidelines, select your game genre with a key image, and describe your game idea in less than 500 words.

For two lucky winners their ideas will come true in the official arcade-style video game Space Jam: A New Legacy, available in 2021 as one of the newest Perks for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. Winners will also receive the following prizes: their names will appear in the in-game credits, a bundle of exclusive items signed and authenticated by LeBron James, Space Jam: A New Legacy items, Nike VIP packs, a custom Xbox Series S console, a private screening of the film for friends and family; and a Microsoft virtual programming workshop for your local community.

To help programmers of all ages to stimulate their creativity, Microsoft Stores will be holding free Space Jam: A New legacy themed virtual workshops on creating video games. Students will be able to create a playable prototype of a video game using block-based codes on the Arcade MakeCode platform, while learning about professional skills and STEAM careers involved in video game design.

Find the thematic coding workshops available at aka.ms/SJANLcoding. Also, you can find additional resources as well as other free workshops that will allow you to learn new skills and keep the kids entertained during the holiday season through the Virtual Student Workshops page on microsoft.com.

In addition, we have two Microsoft Learn lessons for more experienced programmers, teens, high school and college students, as well as adults that focus on how to use player statistics to help coaches make mid-game decisions. In the first lesson, you will be able to predict the efficiency rating with machine learning and Visual Studio Code, using information from people and from the amazing Tune Squad basketball players. The second lesson includes creating a web application that uses real-time machine learning models to help coaches decide who needs a water break and who should enter the field of play, based on the player most likely to win. win.

LeBron James and co-stars like Don Cheadle and Cedric Joe will help you get to know the Microsoft Store and learn about the lessons that will be shown in video clips focused on the power of computer science and programming. In the movie, Joe plays the role of Dom, James’s son, who dreams of becoming a game developer.

We are very excited to join forces with Space Jam: A New Legacy to support computer science education. We hope that our video game contest, along with coding workshops and lessons aligned with Microsoft’s incredible skills initiative, which aims to help 25 million people, including underrepresented populations, and allow them to acquire digital skills and apply them in their Projects.

Microsoft and Warner Bros. have even more exciting news to share with you in the coming months as we approach the official 2021 release of the Space Jame: A New Legacy movie and video game!
