Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn may have had a brush with the supernatural after visiting an allegedly haunted former insane asylum.
The 54-year-old Marvel movie director went for a creepy visit to the abandoned building along with American comedian Steve Agee.
During their trip, 51-year-old Steve snapped away with a camera – using a vintage device with a roll of camera film inside it.
The stand up got a shock when developed the images he took and discovered a mysterious image floating over one of the snaps of his Hollywood director friend – with the suggestion the image was that of a ghost.
Sharing a snap on social media, Steve explained his adventure with James and showed off the mysterious snap.
The image showed James standing beside a door in a corridor of the former asylum, while a black cigar shaped shadow was cast over his image, seemingly flying towards his face.
Steve wrote on Twitter : “I photographed @JamesGunn in an abandoned and supposedly haunted insane asylum.
Confirming the story, James tweeted: “This is actually true. Very weird.”
The photo sparked theories and fear among both James and Steve’s followers.
One follower appeared convinced the rectangular image represented some kind of ghostly spirit, tweeting in reply: “I actually used to have a friend who ghost hunted for a hobby and he had a collection of photos with orbs and some video of things seemingly moving by themselves.”
Another fan suggest the object was a: “Ghost of a clarinet player?”
While another fan joked to the director: “Clearly the spirits aren’t a fan of your work.”
But one fan was left distressed by the image, tweeting: “Stop. This s**t terrifies me. I won’t sleep.”
The building has been used as a filming location for TV shows and movies including The X Files, Riverdale and Deadpool 2.
While local Canadian news reports have suggested the building “has gained a minor reputation for being haunted” and is a magnet for ghost hunters.
