Kosuke Saka (21-5, 18 KOs), 130, retained his Japanese super-featherweight belt when he kept whipping ex-WBO AP titlist Takuya Watanabe (37-10-1, 20 KOs), 130, and eventually dropped him with a heavy overhand right to score a fine stop at 2:45 of the sixth round in a scheduled 10 in Tokyo, Japan on Friday.

After the fifth round, 49-46, Saka took the initiative and took the lead on points. The champion intensified his two-fisted assault in round six and landed a brutal right to floor him on the knee when Matsubara, the referee, called a stop to save the loser.
