When she was murdered last year, the 28-year-old, heavily pregnant woman was found hanging in a tree with stab wounds. Her boyfriend, a 32-year-old JSE analyst, Ntuthuko Ntokozo Shoba, has been accused of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and defeating the ends of justice.Magistrate Etienne van Niekerk heard at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court that a postponement for a formal bail application was decided by the State and Shoba’s counsel.

On Monday, Shoba will return to custody. Before questions are heard about whether he is fit for parole, he will spend the week in prison. Police arrested Shoba last Thursday night, and the man who murdered and hanged Pule implicated him in the killing in court the next day, claiming that he was the mastermind. Muzikayise Malephane, who was arrested by the police a few days after Pule’s murder last year, reached an agreement with the state to file a plea and share details about the murder. Malephane told the Shoba State that she wanted Pule dead because she was pregnant and that he didn’t want to find out about his wife.

Malephane was sentenced to a 20-year prison term as part of the plea. In 10 years, Malephane may be out on enja”.
