Cape Town – Police are investigating double murder and attempted murder cases after the shooting of three people in a car in Elsies River, Cape Town. The incident occurred at the intersection of 28th Avenue and Halt Road shortly after midday on Saturday. Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, the police spokesman, said: “Three people were shot, two men in their thirties were fatally injured, while a woman in her twenties was wounded and transported for treatment to a medical facility.”
The shooting occurred at around 12.30pm, according to sources. The victims were seated inside a white VW golf course when they were shot by unidentified suspects. At this point, the motive for the killing is unclear, and no arrests have been made, Rwexana said. Earlier on Saturday, a woman’s body was discovered in an open field in Hanover Park. mRwexana clarified that there were no apparent injuries to the deceased and that a post-mortem would be done to ascertain the cause of death.
