Sri Lanka has knowledge exchanged with the U.S. Department of Justice linked to charges against those involved of the bombings on Easter Sunday and pro-LTTE organizations’ conduct on U.S. soil.
Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha held a virtual discussion on February 17 with Dan Stigall, Deputy Chief of Staff & Counselor for International Affairs, Department of Justice (DoJ) and senior DoJ officials, according to the Sri Lankan government, to follow up on the charges filed last month by the U.S. “In Los Angeles District Court against three Sri Lankans in the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka in April 2019 for “Conspiring to Provide Material Support to ISIS. All three are in Sri Lanka’s custody at present.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka also called for better monitoring of pro-LTTE organizations in the U.S.
The government said in a statement, “Who, contrary to US legislation, glorified extremism and martyrdom, while propagating hate speech and disinformation”.
