Build snapping mode woes no more
Viking crafting adventure Valheim is all the raiding party rage right now, which means that just about everyone has views on which of its features of craftsmanship and survival are swelling and which are a pain. During early access, the developers have plans to add features and tweaks, but modders have already begun digging into it too. Right now, Valehim Plus is one of the largest of the bunch, a mod that combines a good handful of comfort tweaks together with some extra precision building tools.
For my money, one of the best benefits is the shared map system. For several friends, I’ve been hosting a world and have run into disappointment when I find out that they can’t see parts of the map I’ve wandered off without them. If they could see my adventures as I am the resident obsessive fog of war clearer, it would be mighty nice. At the same time, you will just have to be online and have your position shared with other players for it to work.
The advanced building mode and advanced editing mode of Valheim Plus look like huge advantages as well. By moving and rotating along any axis you want, the build mode tools allow you to place construction objects with much higher precision. The advanced editing mode enables you to move items in the build mode around without first destroying them. That’s also a big sigh of relief for me. I don’t want to talk about how many times I destroyed my bed just to move it three feet and then forgot to claim it as a point of recovery afterwards.
There are several other tweaks worth checking out, such as altering the processing of speed materials, removing the restriction on teleporting items, and altering the weight or stack size of items so that you can transport more at once.
For your local or server world, you can find Valheim Plus over on Nexus Mods along with instructions for installing it. You can independently enable and disable mod features, the creator says, meaning you can pick and choose which modifications you like and which you don’t need.
