Nastia Liukin, an Olympic gymnast, is balancing on one leg with her rubber-band back arched while wearing a fully inflated robe. Last night, the 31-year-old former athlete made flexibility a focal point of her Instagram stories, posting a jaw-dropping throwback and reminding her 1 million followers that just because she retired at the age of 22 didn’t mean the skill-set wasn’t one for life. In her ethereal shot, Nastia, who is currently in the spotlight as the face of home retailer Pottery Barn, was channeling her inner “White Nights.”
Nastia, who earlier this year defended her “gross skinny chicken legs” after a troll demanded to see them in response to a skinny-shaming comment, appeared to be clapping back at the haters.
The 2008 all-around champion was snapped mid-move, balancing on her right leg with her left one hiked right up behind her, also completely arching her back for a head-thrown finish, while posing indoors amid rug flooring and swish ceiling chandeliers. The goddess vibes were accentuated by chiffon-like white fabrics creating a sleeveless dress.
Nastia was photographed with her dress’ train blown up both in front and behind her, with a nearby window providing city high-rise views during the night.
As Liukin yelled out David Debrin photography, the text “TITLE: WHITE NIGHTS” appeared. Nastia now has her hands in a lot of pies, including her $55 Celery Green Cream with Volition, the annual Nastia Cup, and the upcoming Harley & Me dog care line. The news comes as the five-time Olympic medalist shows off her stunning home, complete with Pottery Barn furnishings. As Nastia explained, this resulted in an Architectural Digest feature:
“My team and I, including my [clothing] stylist Gabriella, we talked to them and worked with them to help marry my personal style with my home style.”
Liukin continued: “I’d say the home’s style is warm, with a lot of natural earthy tones throughout, at least as far as I can tell. Also, I wanted it to be fresh and modern; I wanted everything to flow, and I wanted it to be timeless, just like my style.”
Nastia recently updated her Instagram account, showing more skin and bronzing herself in buttercup-yellow Daisy Dukes and an open shirt, and telling her followers: “Just me visualizing myself at the beach rn.”-Inquisitr
