This week’s Real Madrid news is dominated by three matches that appear to be defining their season.
The club will play each leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool over the next week, with the El Clasico against Barcelona this weekend sandwiched in between.
Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, and Dani Carvajal have all been ruled out of Real Madrid’s defense for various reasons.
According to Marca, the club has promoted a Castilla star back into their first-team squad to bolster the defensive numbers. Nacho Fernandez is expected to partner Eder Militao in the heart of the defence for the Spanish champions.
Victor Chust made his first-team debut against Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey earlier this year, and he came on as a late substitute in the La Liga victory over Getafe.
Chust, 20, has been with Real Madrid since he was eight years old, having started his youth career at Valencia. Real Madrid’s official website describes him as “strong, powerful, and aggressive,” as well as being comfortable playing the ball out of defense with his right foot.
