Liverpool will not train in Spain ahead of tomorrow night’s first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid.
The Reds will face Zinedine Zidane’s side at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano in a rematch of the two sides’ contentious 2018 final.
Despite Real Madrid’s offer to use their training facilities at Valdebebas, Liverpool have declined the invitation, as per UEFA protocol.
According to Diario AS, no official reason for Liverpool’s decision has been given; however, current Covid-19 restrictions are likely to be a major factor in their decision.
After completing a final training session at Melwood earlier today, Jurgen Klopp’s side will fly directly to their hotel in Madrid tonight.
Klopp has already confirmed that captain Jordan Henderson will miss the trip due to injury, but that Brazilian superstar Roberto Firmino will accompany them.
