On Thursday, Gerard Pique trained with the rest of his teammates ahead of Saturday’s Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Despite Ronald Koeman’s decision to give his players a day off, the 34-year-old centre-back worked out at Barcelona’s training ground on Wednesday.
Pique is making progress with his injury, but it is unclear whether he will be available for Saturday’s Clasico at the Estadio Di Stefano.
The Catalan defender is eager to assist his team in the final weeks of the 2020/21 season, but the Dutch coach has stated that he will not take any unnecessary risks and will not rush his player’s return.
As a result, Pique will only travel to Spain’s capital if he has fully recovered from his knee injury.
Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann was absent from Thursday’s session due to the birth of his third child, Alba, this morning. Surprisingly, all three of his children were born on April 8.
