Today, one of Mediacorp’s rising male actors is the center of attention, ironically just days after going home empty-handed at the Star Awards 2021 on Sunday.
Shane Pow, 29, was charged with one count of drunk driving in a district court today (April 22).
He was allegedly found driving a motorvan along Java Road with 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Sep 17 last year at about 11.20pm, exceeding the limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, according to The Straits Times. Shane was convicted of a drug offence on 30 July 2014 and facing a driving ban of at least five years, up to two-year jail term and fines ranging from $5000 to $20000. It would be Shane’s second offense if convicted.
On June 3, he will come back to court.
In recent months, it’s not his first brush in the law. In December last year, social distance measures were flawed by Shane, when 13 people gathered in a condominium unit in October in order to celebrate the birthday of Jeffrey. The group includes Terence, Jeffrey Xu, Tan, Julie, Jeremy Chan, Dawn and Sonia Chew. Local celebrities were included in the group.
The regulations of Phase 2 indicated that group meetings must be limited to 5 or fewer persons.
Then a court charge against Terence and non-celebrity was brought, whereas each of the other 11 fined 300 dollars instead of being prosecuted because of their low level of guilt.
