Barcelona have confirmed that defender Oscar Mingueza has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.
After a season in which Mingueza has filled in at right-back and central defense for the Blaugrana youth team, his new contract will include a €100 million release clause.
The defender has been with the club since he was eight years old, making 35 appearances for the B team before being promoted to the senior team this season.
He has made 35 first-team appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring two goals, including one in the El Clasico against Real Madrid earlier this month.
Mingueza came up through the ranks of Santa Perpetua de Modoga for 13 years, playing for all of Barcelona’s lower divisions before making it to the first team.
Ariadna Mingueza, Mingueza’s younger sister, is also a Catalan giants player, having made her senior debut for the club’s Femeni side last month.
