Barcelona hosts Granada this evening at Camp Nou, with a win putting them on top of La Liga. With a game in hand on all three, the Blaugrana are a point ahead of fourth-placed Sevilla, level with second-placed Real Madrid, and two behind Atletico Madrid. Ronald Koeman’s team would take a big step toward the title if they won tonight.

Before the game, Koeman chose what appeared to be a 3-5-2 formation. Marc-Andre ter Stegen started in goal, with Oscar Mingueza, Gerard Pique, and Samuel Umtiti forming the back three. The wing-backs were Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba, and the midfield three were Ilaix Moriba, Sergio Busquets, and Frenkie de Jong, with Pedri rested.

The front two, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, combined superbly in the 24th minute to give the Blaugrana an important early lead. After a clever turn, Griezmann found Messi, who slotted the ball into his preferred left foot to break the Andalusian resistance and get the Catalans off to a flying start.
