Barcelona captain Lionel Messi scored a second brace to help his team to a crucial 3-2 La Liga victory over Valencia.
Thanks to an impressive late turnaround at the Estadio Mestalla, La Blaugrana have kept themselves in the title race.
Before the halftime whistle, neither side could find a breakthrough, with the visitors feeling the pressure of keeping up with their title rivals.
Within minutes of the restart, however, their task was made more difficult when Gabriel Paulista nodded home after Marc Ter Stegen failed to catch a corner.
Ronald Koeman’s side, however, were undeterred, and Messi drew them level on 56 minutes.
Jasper Cillessen denied the Argentinian star from the penalty spot, but he was alive to score the rebound after Cillessen denied Pedri.
After Cillessen saved Frenkie De Jong’s drive, Antoine Griezmann put Barcelona ahead 2-1 on the hour mark.
And, with Barcelona and Messi in high spirits late in the game, the Catalans’ talisman swerved home a trademark free kick to give them breathing room in the final 20 minutes.
Los Che’s Carlos Soler scored a late consolation goal to set up a tense finish, but Barcelona had enough to draw level with Real Madrid in second place and move two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
