According to Diario AS, Real Madrid’s Champions League tie with Chelsea has dominated the news this week. Zinedine Zidane’s side couldn’t beat the Londoners in the first leg of their semi-final, despite the Frenchman starting without a Galactico. Eden Hazard, the team’s ostensible star, only played 25 minutes.
Damien Duff, an Irish winger who won the Premier League with Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea team, has questioned Hazard’s fitness, claiming that he cost Madrid €150 million but arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu overweight in the summer of 2019.
Hazard has been plagued by injuries and has struggled to make an impact since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 from Chelsea, where he had established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting players over the previous seven years. During his time in Spain, the Belgian has had eleven different physical problems, but he appears to be on the mend after cameo appearances against Real Betis and Chelsea this week.
