Borussia Dortmund is confident that superstar striker Erling Haaland will stay with the club this summer.
The Norwegian international has been linked with a big-money move away from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, with La Liga clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping tabs on him.
Despite the ongoing speculation about where the 20-year-old will play next season, Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl has stated that his team’s stance has not changed.
“I understand Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund next season,” he told an interview with Sport1, as reported via Diario AS.
“Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say he completely identifies with the club.”
Kehl’s remarks follow Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola’s suggestion that the German side would struggle to turn down a world-record offer from one of Spain’s superpowers.
Those comments, however, were dismissed by Kehl as speculation about Haaland’s role, as the former RB Salzburg midfielder is under contract at Siganl Iduna Park until 2024.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are expected to keep an eye on the situation in the coming months, but Dortmund are likely to demand around €180 million if they decide to sell.
