On Thursday night (29 April), 60A Lorong 4 Toa Payoh residents were welcomed by a horrendous bloody scene after being wounded by a male adolescent during a knife attack. From the ground floor elevator lift of the nearby multi-story car park to the open-air parking area of the sixth floor, there is a blood path about 500 m long.
Photographs show a huge sparrow of blood on the ground, leading away from it with several pure footprints. Four other young men, from 15 to 20 years old, were assailants. After a discussion between them escalated, Shin Min Daily News reported, they had attacked and chased the 15-year-old victim with a knife.
As the region was usually found to be quite peaceful, people were shocked to learn what happened. One resident who refused to be named told the Chinese daily news she heard shouting, but she disregarded it and went back to sleep. A third resident of thirty recalled that, though he heard nothing unusual, three or quatre suspect young men were running past his door.
The police said the four assailants have since been detained for rioting on a deadly weapon in reply to AsiaOne’s queries.
While the victims were deliberately transmitted to the Singapore Civil Defense Force, the KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital confirmed.
Inquiries are still ongoing by the police. This is last week’s second knife attack. Only Tuesday, April 27, after her colleague attacked her for seven times with a chopper, a woman was bleeding away from her hand and neck, reportedly unhappy with her criticism. Four hours later, the man was arrested for having freely hurt a dangerous weapon.
