According to Mundo Deportivo, Riqui Puig isn’t in Ronald Koeman’s plans for these recent games. This is especially true since the recent emergence of Ilaix Moriba, a teenager who has shone since being given a more senior role for Barcelona. The diminutive but talented midfielder is rumored to be on his way to one of Serie A’s biggest clubs.
Juventus and Inter are said to be keeping a close eye on the Catalan, as both are looking to add youth to their squads for next season. Both, however, are in a precarious financial situation and are unable to make large investments. As a result, Riqui could be used as a part-exchange for Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Bernardeschi, Adrien Rabiot, Rodrigo Betancur, or Aaron Ramsey.
Riqui hasn’t played for Barcelona since the 13th of February, when the Catalan club hosted Alaves at Camp Nou. He doesn’t appear to have earned Koeman’s trust in the same way that Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo, or Pedri have, but he appears to be on his way.
