Jaxson Hayes, the center for the New Orleans Pelicans, is said to have been jailed after a brawl with cops.
Police were called to a home in the Los Angeles region after getting a complaint about a domestic dispute, according to TMZ. It’s unclear if Hayes owned the residence, but when cops arrived, he allegedly tried to keep them from entering to check on the other residents.
After radioing “officer needs help,” Hayes allegedly became “combative” with the cops, who eventually tased him. According to TMZ, Hayes and one of the policemen were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Hayes, 21, has not been charged with a crime, but he is expected to be jailed for felony battery on a police officer, according to reports. The domestic disturbance that sparked this incident is still being investigated by authorities, but both parties, according to TMZ, are refusing to cooperate.
