On August 26, Kim Kardashian made an unexpected appearance in a bridal gown at Kanye West’s newest “DONDA” event in Chicago.
On August 26, Kim Kardashian did a lot more than show her support for her estranged husband Kanye West during his latest Donda listening event. Instead of merely sitting in the crowd this time, she joined in the fun by taking center stage with him, dressed in a bridal gown. Take a look at the video below!

After holding two listening parties for his new album in Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium – both of which were attended by Kim and their four children – Kanye, 44, moved the show to Solider Field in his hometown of Chicago, putting on a show that required no proof of vaccine or negative COVID test, but included a recreation of his childhood home in the middle of the stadium. Fans went berserk when Kim appeared outside her childhood home dressed in a Balenciaga Couture gown during the night’s last song, “No Child Left Behind.”
Is this a sign that they’re reconciling? That remains to be seen, but Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February, indicating that their divorce might be finalized at any time. According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye have always been “forever family,” and “they have always supported each other’s undertakings and will continue to do so in the future, whether it be a collaborative effort or not.” “Kim was thrilled to do it for Kanye and the occasion, which was so important to him,” their source continued.
What about the music? At this moment, it’s unclear whether Kanye (who recently filed paperwork to legally change his name from Kanye Omani West to simply “Ye”) will tour DONDA in this manner rather than the traditional one. Even though Kanye hasn’t rapped or sung at these listening events, they are nonetheless considered performances. With distinctive costumes, unique sets, and emotionally charged music, the DONDA listening parties have been an experience.
These listening parties may be the only opportunity for DONDA to be performed live. According to Genius, the album could have up to thirty tracks and more (unconfirmed) features than a DJ Khaled project. The Weeknd, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, Young Thug, Kid Cudi, Chris Brown, Roddy Ricch, Jay Electronica, The LOX, the late Pop Smoke, Jay-Z, Don Toliver, Ty Dola $ign, Tyler, The Creator, and Snoop Dogg are just a few of the names and voices who have appeared at these listening parties.
Jay and Ye’s reunion on DONDA was the first time they’d worked on the same song in five years. What happened before that? They collaborated on Drake’s “Pop Style” in 2016. Drake, 34, and Ye, 33, recently renewed their long-running feud in an unusual turn of events. In July, Kanye’s colleague Consequence tweeted, “We’re looking for the [Drake] drop date,” implying that Ye wanted to release DONDA on the same day as Drake’s delayed/long-awaited album, Certified Lover Boy (h/t Complex).
It would place the two albums in direct competition, and it would be a chance for Ye to (supposedly) beat Drake, given DONDA’s hype has far outstripped CLB’s. Drake appeared on SiriusXM’s Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday less than a week after that tweet to announce that the album was finished, “and that’s for everybody in the way.” Some saw this as a message to Kanye West. Kanye West appeared to have contributed some lines to “Junya” alongside Playboy Carti during the second DONDA release party. “Get out of the way of my release/ I’m trying to get off my Qs and Ps/ Move out of the way of my release/ Why can’t losers lose peacefully? Nobody around me is losing sleep/ Find God before he finds me,” Ye rapped.
“All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/ Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/ Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone,” Drake rapped in his verse on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal.” All three artists are 44 years old: Consequence, Kanye, and Pusha-T. On the same day as the release of “Betrayal,” Kanye shared a screenshot of a group chat message on Instagram (which allegedly featured Drake?). Kanye had first uploaded an image of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in the now-deleted post. He wrote, “I live for this.” “I’ve spent my entire life being f-cked by nerd ass jock n—-s like you. You will never be able to recover. I swear to you.”
While this immature bravado between two well-known artists may appear childish, it has done wonders for promoting Ye’s and Drake’s respective albums. When will fans be able to hear those albums for the first time? The original release date for DONDA was July 23. It didn’t meet the deadline. A new release date has been announced for August 6. It didn’t arrive at that time, either. The album’s Apple Music page stated that it would be released on Aug. 15, however that date passed without a new album. According to Hypebeast, Kanye’s manager, Abou “Bu” Thiam, indicated the album was finished and would be released after the Soldier Field show. Certified Lover Boy has no release date as of Wednesday.
