It’s that time of year when trade whispers start flying around the NBA. According to the most recent sources, the Memphis Grizzlies may deal either Dillion Brooks or Kyle Anderson to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, if you ask superstar Ja Morant, neither player will be leaving Memphis before the 2021-22 season begins. He moved to Twitter to inform all of his fans that the rumors must be put to an end right away. If you ask Morant, there’s nothing to see here for Cleveland fans.

Ja Morant took to Twitter to shut down trade rumors for the Grizzlies
Morant is coming off a terrific season as the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Morant averaged 19.1 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in 2020-21. Morant understands that as he prepares for his third season in the NBA, he will be under even more pressure to maintain his great play.
Morant, on the other hand, is tight with his teammates and refuses to be involved in any of the speculations that are circulating. Memphis has made no indication that it is interested in Brooks or Anderson.
While the Cavaliers may be eager to make a move and acquire one of the two, Morant and his teammates may be ready to unpack their belongings if a deal is made. However, don’t hold your breath for something to be finalized before the start of the regular season.
Memphis finished last season with a 38-34 record. They’ll be hoping to make a bit of a leap next year and contend for a postseason berth as a middle seed. Don’t rule it out with Morant leading the charge.
