NBC Sports Boston originally published Payton Pritchard’s 92-point performance in a Pro-Am game.
Payton Pritchard’s outstanding summer continued on Saturday in Portland, Oregon, at a Pro-Am tournament game.
The Boston Celtics guard scored 92 points to lead his side to a 165-163 victory. Days before, ex-Celtics player Isaiah Thomas scored 81 points in a Pro-Am game.
Pritchard was unable to participate in Summer League due to a “prior obligation,” but he dominated in the Celtics’ three games in Las Vegas. The 23-year-old shot 51.4 percent from the field and 57.7 percent from 3-point range, averaging 20.3 points, 8.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.
Pritchard was a standout rookie last season, averaging 7.7 points and shooting 44 percent from the floor off the bench. He’s poised to take a step forward in Year 2 based on his Summer League success and his scoring outburst in Portland.
