Against the Seminoles, Notre Dame Will be Without two Running Backs and one Defensive Player

Notre Dame said three players would be unavailable for Sunday’s season opener against Florida State. Their running back depth will be harmed, and one defensive player will be absent:

Only Flemister was featured on this week’s depth chart among these three players. Flemister, a senior, is coming off his best season ever, rushing for 299 yards and five touchdowns on 58 carries in nine games. When the Irish faced the Seminoles in 2020, he gained two yards on his sole carry.

Diggs, a Marrero, Louisiana native, is starting his freshman year. He was a three-star prospect in high school, rushing for 2,287 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Botelho, who is classified as a linebacker on the above report but on the official roster as a defensive lineman, returns to the Irish for his second season after appearing in four games as a rookie. He had two tackles in the game against Florida State, one of which came in the first half.
